Maternity, Paternity and Childcare Leave

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Maternity, Paternity, and Childcare Leave Policy is to provide a clear guidance for staff on the application process, rules, and procedures related to maternity, paternity, and childcare leave. This policy aims to ensure that staff are well-informed and aware of the necessary steps to take when applying for leave, promoting a transparent and accessible process for all eligible staff members.

2. Leave Request Procedure

Procedure for Applying Maternity/Paternity/Childcare Leave:

Initiate Leave Request:

  • Send an email to hr_support@thesoftwarepractice.com, specifying the type of leave (Maternity/Paternity/Childcare) and the intended duration of the leave.

Await Response from Ops Team:

  • Ops team will acknowledge the leave request and explain the next steps.

Leave Balance Confirmation:

  • Ops team will review the request and update the leave entitlement in ZOHO accordingly.
  • Ops team will share a Dropbox link for staff to submit their marriage certificate (for Marriage Leave) and birth certificate (for Maternity, Paternity, and Child Care Leave).
  • Once the official documents are released by the relevant authorities, staff must submit them to the provided Dropbox link.

Submitting the Leave Application via ZOHO People

  • Once the respective leave entitlement has been updated, staff need to submit their leave application via the ‘ZOHO People’ platform. The guideline of this process can be found in the Leave Application Guideline .
